How to use Aromatherapy Candles for Meditation

Maybe you are interested to learn how to meditate, or perhaps you already know how to meditate, perhaps you lead a stressful life and want to learn how to manage your stress better,  there could be many more perhaps … BUT whatever is your situation, I am about to share with you a meditation technique,  how aromatherapy candles can help you in getting into a state of meditation.  The only thing you need is an aromatherapy candle and a cushion. Certain aromatherapy scents like lavender is recommended…that is my personal recommendation. But anything that is soft will do.   So here are some tips for you …

First of all, get into a quiet room, be it your room, or even an empty room. Stay away from your home office, or living rooms. Not only that this can distract you from getting into a state of meditation, but the various objects in this area of the house can be a hindrance. Another thing that you want to get is a comfortable cushion. Again this is my recommendation, but if for health reason  you cannot really sit on a lotus position or on the ground with a cushion, you can try sitting on a chair. The most important thing is, get yourself comfortable. Do not wear anything tight, wear comfortable tshirts and pants and close the door. Remember that you do not want to be distracted when you are meditating.  It is very easy for anyone to get distracted especially beginners, our mind wanders and jump from one thing to another so unbelivably quick. The practice of meditation is to control your thoughts and minds, to get your brain to what I’d call a “no-thinking” zone.

Place the candle a bit farther from where you sit. Lit the candle and get yourself seated, and comfortable. Good quality aromatherapy candles will fill the air with soft scents rather quickly.  Whether you are seated in a full lotus position or seated on a chair, place both hands together right outside of the bubbling well. Your neck and shoulders should be fully relaxed.

  • Close your eyes, and start the breathing technique for meditation.
  • Keep your focus solely on the breathing. Visualize that you are breathing a pure light of air , entering your body down to the bubbling well. Hold it for a few seconds before you breath out.
  • Breath out the impurities from your body.

Repeat the process nine times (9x breathing in/out).  You will feel a whole warm good sensation rushing through your body. You can repeat the breathing process up to three times. For beginners, if you can focus on the breathing for nine times, you are already on the way to having a good foundation of practicing meditation. This is one of the many methods to learn meditation.

Please let me know how it goes for you.  :)
