In everyday life we have the choice between hot and cold. Whether it be foods, drinks or even massages and baths. While some may prefer something cold other would prefer something hot. Also to add to the need of hot or cold is the weather. For those hot summer days we all love to have a cold drink and during winter a hot cup of chocolate milk does wonders. Other times people just simply love the feeling of something cold and vice versa.

With cold stone therapy more options are available as to other forms of therapy. With this form of therapy the therapist is given the ability to provide more services which in turn gives you more options to choose from, making your experience even more enjoyable. While this is so other just simply love the feelings of something cold being placed on their body or being massaged. Depending on the individual cold stone therapy may even be medically preferable. If the person muscle tissues are in some way damaged or are sore then cold stone therapy is preferable rather than hot stone therapy. If hot stone therapy is done while in this state it can only aggravate and further damage the muscle tissue and also increase the level of pain felt.

Others may have muscle swelling from the participation of various activities whether it be sports or something work related such as construction. In these cases hot stone therapy is not to even be considered. However, if marble stones are used this will help spread the swelling and reduce and also quicken the healing process of those sore and beaten up muscles. This form of therapy can also have great benefit to other parts of the body as well. It can relieve tired eyes, reduce puffy eyes and also lower sinus pressure in any and every one. This type of therapy has so specific medical liking. It all depends on the individuals liking. Concerning the face, it is always best to place a cloth under the stones in order to protect their face.

While basalt is known to be smooth and have the ability to retain heat extremely well, so to marble stones do with cold. In general, the more effective the stone so to would the massage be. Basalt stones are used very well in some conditions and can be used for a time period of up to twenty minutes before having to reheat. The same goes for marble but can retain the level of coldness for much longer. Not only are they so effective but they are also the more popular choice when it comes to massage therapy. Of course most of the people who go for massage therapy are damaged or receive pain from some part of their body and for this reason it is clear to see how cold tones therapy is the most obvious choice. However, there are those who just have massage therapy done for relaxation and to enjoy the experience. In this case most of the time the therapy of choice is hot stone.
