I’m sure that if you are reading this article, you have at least a slight idea about what Aromatherapy is and that it involves many of the human senses, especially the sense of smell. Certain smells in the world appeal some people more than they do others, its all a matter of a person’s genetic construction and what they are accustomed to. Although it is true that some people think certain scents or odors, in which others despise greatly, smell good. That is simple opinion, but the fact is that the scents used in aroma are almost never considered to be bad odors to anyone, preference exists in aroma, but denial is usually. present whenever someone rejects a certain aroma scent.
In aroma today, there are too many specified scents to list briefly. However, the most well-known and popular scents consist of those in which are said to have a calming effect for most people, which is indeed what the majority people who use aromatherapy today aim for. These particular scents are listed and described below:
Lavender- The scent of lavender is derived from the actual lavender flower, which might have already been apparent to most people reading this. The fact that it has many beneficial effects when inhaled or smelled gave it the nickname of Blue Magic. This essential oil, if not the most popular, is most definitely among the most popular essential oils in the world and is said to truly be the most “essential” of all essential oils.
Vanilla- Although some believe vanilla can be used as an aphrodisiac, it is among the most popular essential oils today. With its overwhelming scent being one of the most favorable scents in the world, the demand for it is extremely high. I’m sure you know what it smells like, of course aromatherapy is not the only thing that the actual substance, vanilla, is used for.
Rose- Usually burned to get the most beneficial scent out of it, Rose is another one of those calming essential oils that you are probably familiar with in some aspect. This scent is derived from the actual flower just as lavender is and provides an invigorating smell, although it must be used in higher concentration than some other essential oils UNLESS you do actually burn it.
Jasmine- Being very popular among the romantic and sensual type, jasmine is commonly referred to as “The King of the Oils”. Just by reading that sentence probably gave you an idea of what one of the benefits are, and that is the fact that the scent of jasmine can actually induce the sensual mood of people. So among the benefits of jasmine are both the obvious relaxation benefits, and sensual benefits as well.
Although these are only a few aromatherapy scents, they are most certainly among the most used and are some of the best sellers scents in the world. Without the actual scents of all essential oils, aromatherapy would simply not have the same affect on people as it does with those invigorating scents, thank god for the sense of smell.
