Color Me Good or Bad
Whether we choose to admit or are unaware of it, color does affect whatever mood we are in. It is simple because each color represents a unique personality or energy. For example, the color green is linked with friendliness and warmth. Yet it also represents jealousy and covetousness. Blue is similar to green as well as yellow in the same sense, they all represent an atmosphere of warmth and friendliness and jolliness. If you were to walk into a room where the curtains were black, the wall painted black and everyone was wearing black. Hmmm! Now just imagine the dark, gloomy feeling that would come over you.
It is the same way with all other colors, like red for example. Red has a nervous effect on people maybe because of all the other colors it is the one that really stands out and demands your attention. It is also representative of anger and heat. Pastel colors always seem to leave a warm, soothing effect on us like baby blue, pink and yellow. Today scientists and experts in the field are combining colors to use as a source of healing for mankind. While white is symbolic of purity and all that is innocent and clean, there are a few other colors that could bring calmness and pure thoughts to ease a disturbed mind.
Bottom line if you sometimes find yourself acting in a manner that is unlike your personality or even those around you, consider the T-shirt you wore and what color it was. If you are meeting a friend of family for the first time, wearing a shade of blue, green or yellow would be a great idea to create and maintain a healthy, sound and friendly atmosphere. Want to be the life of the party or come across as intimidating, then all red is surely the way to go, seeing that it would have a nervous effect on everyone in the room.
Point being, the effect that color can have on a person’s personality and present mood is so strong, that it could be used to bring about healing to the mind, body and soul. For example if you are taking care of a convalescent or you yourself suffer with depression, try painting the room in a color that is enlightening. Wearing dark colors does make one’s silhouette look slimmer but it would be at the expense of whatever energy you send out to those who you come in contact with.
All this may sound strange to some, but the effect that color has on an individual is almost parallel to subliminal messages. We cannot always see the affect color has on us because it’s absorbed in our subconscious minds. Most of the times therefore we are totally unaware of this fact. It is crucial at times however to be aware of the effect color has on you and others, especially when going for a job interview. Pay attention to whatever color you decide to wear.
