Nancy asks…
How long can green tea be stored in the fridge before it loses it health benefits?
I would like to make some fresh green tea (hot water and tea bags) and store it in the fridge for later consumption, but I was wondering if it would lose some of the health benefits.

admin answers:
IF you brew fresh, it should keep for approximately 4 days max.
If you freeze it, it will last slightly longer.
The actual unbrewed tea leaves themselves will keep up to 2yrs in cool, dark, dry conditions like a freezer. Seal them well, though.
It won’t be “bad” after that, but the catechins and phenols in the tea will denature, and those are the health-promoting substances in it.
Contrary to one of the other responses, green (as well as white and black) tea DOES have documented benefits if you ingest it consistently over time. It’s not a magic bullet, but a long term treatment…a preventative medicine rather than an allopathic drug to treat specific symptoms after they already appear.

Mandy asks…
Can we still eat and live “green” without going to a health food store?
Can you buy health items at regular retail stores? Can you give me any tips? thanks

admin answers:
Yes you can, but health food stores, and especially “organic” food stores have a better, wider selection. Many foods we buy at regular stores have chemicals on them or in them that are used to help with growing these foods or processing them.
I’m not sure what you mean be “green” though. If you are referring to vegan lifestyle check this out:

If you just want a healthy diet watch food leabels and do some research. As a sample, read the info here:

Mark asks…
Green Tea: Are the Lipton and Tetley Green Teas as healthy as what you find in a health store?
OR, are they too processed?

admin answers:
Not exactly…. The healthy ones are more natural and less processed…so there’s much more antioxidants in it which lead to faster weight loss and overall health benefits.
If you are looking to maximize the health benefits…and increase weight loss…you should try out white tea and acai…its kinda like one of the purest forms of white tea …so theres much more antioxidants than even the herbal green tea. It also tastes much better and you need to drink less as compared to green tea to acheive good results!
Last i checked these guys over at http://freewhitetea.com were giving away free packs…check em out..otherwise you would get some from anywhere else online..just search yahoo… No harm if you’re getting it for free
